Local Activities

You cannot help but relax in the haven of Catusse-Haut but for those who want to wander a little further afield or have energy to expend, there is plenty to do in the area for all the family.

For golfers – bring your clubs as non-members can play at Castelnau Montratier and Seilh (to the north of Toulouse). For walkers, the immediate area has breathtaking views – a morning walk to the bakery in nearby Montpezat de Quercy or take in outstanding views from Montalzat; it’s a birdwatcher and wildlife lover’s dream. Fabulous local bastide villages provide lovely scenery and shady lanes to wander.

Buy local produce at St Antonin’s fabulously colourful Sunday morning market followed by a three hour kayak down the Aveyron, through its famous gorges – pull in to one of the little beaches to enjoy a picnic.

Stray a little further to the Lot and Dordogne valleys to the north and see stunning chateaux perched high above the rivers. The wine region of Bordeaux is under 2 hours to the west and closer to home is Quercy, Cahors and Gaillac – lesser known wine producing areas, but worth a visit.

Nearby Montauban has an ancient double cloistered square – perfect for a cold glass of wine or saunter through its cobbled lanes and enjoy the boutique style shops.

These are just some of our favourites but for information on any particular activity or interest such as horse-riding, fishing, paintball and tennis, please contact us and we will be happy to research for you prior to your arrival.
